Carmanah Technologies is pleased to announce a sale worth over $625,000 USD for Carmanah EG340 solar lights to illuminate a road network at a large industrial facility in Latin America.

This sale represents the first installation of the EG340 solar lights for a roadway lighting application. According to the facility owners, the company will save hundreds of MWh of electricity per year by introducing solar powered lighting into their operations. The EG340 Carmanah solar powered lights were specifically designed to meet the cost point, lighting and performance specifications for Latin American countries.

One of the key reasons the EG340 was chosen was the low maintenance requirements for the lights - another cost saving advantage. The solar light also fit in well with the national Government's support for renewable energy products.

Applications that the EG340 solar lights are ideal for include; public roadways, parking lots, perimeter lighting, and other area lighting applications. The EG340 lights offer adaptive lighting, standard IES light distributions, 6000K and 4300K color temperature options, as well as Carmanah's patented Energy Management System.

Carmanah CEO, Ted Lattimore said, "Part of Carmanah's strategic business plan is to be the world leader in the development and provision of solar powered lighting solutions.

This installation of the EG340 for roadway lighting in Latin America will be a credible reference for any group considering the use of solar powered LED lights to illuminate a road network, from an organization in an industry where safe and reliable performance from any equipment deployed at their facility is mandatory. It is also another significant example of Carmanah's continued progress towards achieving our strategic business plan."

The EG340 has already experienced significant success illuminating pathways and park areas in Latin America. Since its release in January 2011, year to date booked sales of the EG340 and EG320 solar lights are nearing $1M USD for this exciting new product series. This sale is yet another success for Mr. Fernando Entrena and Ms. Iliana Fernandez of Carmanah Authorized Distributor, Iner Consultores.
