SolarReserve Helps Netcare Lower Their Energy Costs
by Staff Writers
Johannesburg, South Africa (SPX) Mar 09, 2017

SolarReserve's Energy Solutions division in South Africa provides turnkey, grid-tied and off-grid solar photovoltaic (PV) rooftop, ground-mount, and carport solutions to South African commercial and industrial entities that will significantly reduce their energy costs, carbon footprint and provide predictability in terms of budgets.

SolarReserve, a leading global energy developer with 246 megawatts of solar capacity already on-line in South Africa, has worked with Netcare Limited to roll out commercial sized solar PV rooftop installations at fifteen of its facilities, namely at the Netcare 911 head office in Midrand and fourteen Medicross family medical and dental centres across the country.

The sites combined deliver about 720 kilowatts peak of solar power, with a cumulative production of over 950 megawatt-hours per year - saving 34,354 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

SolarReserve's alternative clean energy solutions are helping Netcare meet the goals of their environmental sustainability strategy to reduce their carbon footprint and ensure the security of the supply of electricity required by their high-acuity operations, which is critical in delivering the best patient experience.

Actively managing their dependency on municipal power during standard tariff periods by securing a portion of their power supply from a clean, renewable power source that they own results in direct and indirect cost savings, reduced environmental impact and better management of risk related to future municipal tariff uncertainty.
