Solar Bawabeh, president and co-founder of Solar Rainbow Services has announced that they will be installing a 1 megawatt (MW) solar photovoltaic system over a total of 120,000 square feet for Omni Holdings at 4301B New Brunswick Avenue in South Plainfield, New Jersey.

The Omni Holding Complex includes: Braco Manufacturing Co. and Magic Safety Products, Ronpak, and Toyo, Inc. Solar Rainbow has already reroofed the 120,000 square feet with their subsidiary More Core Commercial Roofing. The companies manufacture quality disposable products, innovative lens cleaning safety products, ink and packaging for national chains.

Through the clean power of natural sunlight the installations will produce 80% of the facilities current electric needs and will generate approximately 1,100,000 kilowatt per year. Omni Holdings will be using Chaori Solar product as panels for their solar photovoltaic system.

The solar installation will dramatically lessen the tenants' environmental impact by reducing carbon emissions by 1,759,020 pounds per year. That is equivalent to conserving 89,750 gallons of gasoline annually or 1,730 barrels of oil.

Mr. Bawabeh stated, "Solar Rainbow is excited that we were selected to install and integrate the new solar system with the new roofing. Omni was very familiar with the process and we are delighted that Solar Rainbow was the integrator chosen for such a project."

Additionally, Solar Rainbow will assist Omni Holdings in retrieving a federal cash grant under the national stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act that refunds 30 percent of the project's cost.

"With energy savings and revenue generated through solar renewable energy certificates (SRECs), and the 100% Bonus Depreciation Omni Holdings expects to recoup its investment within two years," stated Elliot Braha, co-president of Omni Holdings.

Jack Braha, co-president of Omni, stated, "We are very excited about generating clean renewable energy for our facilities and look forward to lowering our energy costs and limiting carbon emissions. Solar Rainbow has been very helpful in educating us about the benefits of owning a solar system and has put a great team together to simultaneously implement the reroofing and installation of the solar system."

Solar Rainbow has begun construction on phase 1 which will be a system of 330 kilowatt (KW) on 40,000 square feet. Once completed, Solar Rainbow will begin phase 2 which will be a system of approximately 660 KW and 80,000 square feet. The entire project will be completed by June.

Omni Holdings and Solar Rainbow acknowledge the support and assistance given to this project by the Township of South Plainfield and the New Jersey Clean Energy and PSEG.
