Verengo Inc reports it has installed its 8,000th home solar system. Verengo is the first residential solar specialist to reach this milestone and has accomplished this growth in less than five years. The 4.9 KW system was installed this May on the roof of Sherwin Young's Bakersfield home. Mr. Young, a self-employed builder, lives there with his family of five. The Young's used Verengo's "Zero Down" financing option to have their system installed at no upfront cost. "We went solar for two reasons: to save money and help the environment." "We use the air conditioner a lot during the summer that's why we wanted it done now - to save costs" Mr. Young said We will be paying less in utility costs by going solar." And we also wanted to go green because the air quality in Bakersfield is not good. Every little bit helps." "We're excited to have reached this industry milestone so quickly," said Verengo CEO and Co-founder Randy Bishop. "It's very fulfilling for the Verengo Team to be part of an industry which produces clean, affordable energy, and creates jobs in our communities. It is particularly rewarding to be solarizing so many homes in the Bakersfield area which for the last few years has ranked near the top American Lung Association's list of the cities with the worst air pollution." "We are proud of the fact that the Verengo zero down financing has helped rooftop solar become a mainstream home improvement product available to virtually everyone. "By building trust with every customer interaction, we have enabled 8,000 families take control of their energy expense, save money and improve their air quality" said Verengo President and Co-founder Ken Button.
