IDC Energy Insights has announced the launch of three new global research programs focused on quantifying and tracking the Smart Meter, Photovoltaic Module, and Solar Inverter markets.

These markets are poised for significant growth in the coming years due to market forces that include consumer pressure to increase access to renewable energy resources, regulatory and policy requirements, and government incentive programs.

To enable the new research, IDC Energy Insights is hiring a total of five new analysts - two in the U.S., one in Europe, and two in Asia/Pacific, who will work in cooperation with IDC's Worldwide Tracker team to compile ongoing market updates in a user-friendly format.

The new analysts join IDC Energy Insights' existing analyst team that spans North America, Europe, and Asia/Pacific. The IDC Energy Insights tracker team will be led by program manager, Ryan Reith.

IDC Trackers provide reliable, accurate, and independent market data that serve as a foundation for creating quantitative market analyses and studying historical trends.

The Worldwide Quarterly Photovoltaic Module Tracker, the Worldwide Quarterly Smart Meter Tracker, and the Worldwide Quarterly Solar Inverter Tracker will be updated quarterly and will provide total market size and vendor share by various market segmentations for both historical and forecast periods. Measurement will include unit shipments, unit installations, and value.
