Foster City CA (SPX) Aug 01, 2007
SolarCity, ranked by the California Energy Commission as the fastest growing solar installation company in California, has scaled to accommodate its rapid growth with the opening of a new headquarters building in Foster City, CA while expanding its reach throughout the state with new offices in four major metropolitan centers.

The 10,000 square foot building, located at 393 Vintage Park Drive, will serve as the new base of operations for the company that recently earned top marks in employee growth from the CEC for more than tripling in size during the last five months. Since opening in October 2006, SolarCity has grown to a company with more than 160 employees. New offices in Berkeley, Fresno, Los Angeles and Sacramento will distribute their workforce throughout the state in order to meet the growing demands of the nation's largest solar installation market.

"We've put together a great team at SolarCity," said Lyndon Rive, CEO and founder of SolarCity. "Growing our company and providing the best in solar installation and design teams has meant bringing in more talented engineers with experience developing, installing and servicing solar systems," he said. "We are hiring the best and brightest to make this happen."

SolarCity has managed to attract the industry's top talent by offering the kinds of incentives other solar installers haven't, like 401k plans, healthcare and company shares to every employee.

"Thanks to a strategic growth plan, commitment and excellence of our people, we've been able to strengthen our leadership position, extend our influence in new markets, design better products and provide a reason for more people to go solar," said Lyndon Rive. "We're helping transform the solar service industry in California, and will soon take this successful model as our blueprint as we expand across the nation," he said.
