Trina Solar has announced that it has entered into an agreement to supply PV modules with a total generation capacity of 20MWp to Lightsource Renewable Energy, the UK's leading solar energy generator and asset operator, for the completion of several solar farm projects in the UK. This carries Trina Solar's total deliveries to Lightsource past the 100MW mark in the last 16 months. Speaking about the deal, Ben Hill, Head of Europe at Trina Solar, said: "This supply contract with Lightsource is a reiteration of our continuing commitment to serving the needs of installers and end users in the UK market. At a time when market conditions have been particularly challenging and changeable, it is all the more important for manufacturers to provide their partners in the installation and project management community with high-quality products and services. "The selection of Trina Solar modules for these Lightsource projects vindicates not only our longstanding efforts to develop industry-leading products, but also the time and resources we have invested in absorbing and understanding the implications of the recent anti-dumping Undertaking. "We are confident that we are ahead of the game when it comes to adjusting to and complying with the new market landscape, and we look forward to continuing to work with Lightsource to supply their projects across the UK," he continued. The panels being supplied are polycrystalline modules with power ratings up to 260Wp. They were delivered to Lightsource for UK projects which are scheduled for completion under 1.6 ROCS before the end of March 2014. Kareen Boutonnat, Managing Director for Lightsource Renewable Energy, added: "Trina Solar's forward-planning - anticipating the impact of the undertaking and ensuring its supply was in place before it came into force - was a major factor in our decision to procure their modules. I would like to take this opportunity to re-iterate our commitment to Trina Solar. We signed a framework agreement in early 2013, and since then we have really enjoyed working alongside their team to deliver our projects. Their new 'Honey' module is a favourite of ours." Boutonnat continues: "As the UK's leading developer and operator of large-scale solar farms, we have to pay particular attention to our supply chain. This is key to the constant delivery of our projects. Working directly with Tier 1 panel manufactures like Trina Solar enables us to forge good relationships and create a dependable flow of components into our pipeline. Our suppliers have to forward plan, remain flexible, and deliver fast - it is the nature of our business - we expect that, and Trina Solar are very good at it."
