Northrop Grumman will provide under contract the radio frequency generators for the U.S. Navy's Next Generation Electronic Warfare Environment program.
Under the terms of the contract Northrop Grumman will supply the signal generation technology for the NEWEG for threat simulation purposes.
"Our RF Generation Technology is a generational leap in technology built on a foundation of strong radio frequency simulation performance from our Advanced Multiple Environment Simulator and Combat Electromagnetic Environment Simulator heritage," Joe Downie, site director, Amherst systems, Northrop Grumman Buffalo said in a press release.
The system will utilize an advanced pulse generator to generate radio waveforms. It will be used for laboratory testing, anechoic chamber and range uses.
The NEWEG is designed to simulate electronic warfare devices for testing both offensive and defensive systems. It will also help determine the vulnerability of other electronic platforms. It will form part of the Advanced Systems Integration Laboratory run by the Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test Department.
Navy to issue order for heavy lift of the USS John S. McCain
The U.S. Navy is planning on issuing an order on an existing contract for the salvage, repair and transport of the USS John S. McCain to Yokosuka, Japan, using a heavy lift.
The ship will be transported from Singapore to the U.S. Navy's Ship Repair Facility-Japan Regional Maintenance Facility, with a tentative timeframe of late September.
