Fulcrum BioEnergy has announced that its President and CEO, E. James Macias, will be speaking at the Platts 2nd Annual Advanced Biofuels Conference. Mr. Macias will participate in a panel discussion titled "Thermochemical Platforms for Advanced Biofuels – State of the Industry."
The conference will take place at the Marriott Washington in Washington, DC on June 4 and June 5.
Fulcrum has developed a proven approach for creating advanced biofuels utilizing new technologies in an innovative, clean, efficient and proven thermochemical process. The company has a significant pipeline of project opportunities in 20 states with the capacity to generate more than 1.3 billion gallons of cellulosic ethanol annually.
The Sierra BioFuels Plant, Fulcrum's first commercial project, is scheduled to enter construction later this year. Located 20 miles east of Reno, Nevada, the plant is designed to process post-recycled municipal solid waste – garbage that would otherwise be landfilled – and produce 10.5 million gallons of cellulosic ethanol annually.
The Sierra BioFuels Plant will be the first of a fleet of larger plants located across the U.S. creating a low-cost, reliable source of domestic renewable transportation fuels helping alleviate the Nation's dependence on foreign oil, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions, relieving pressure on existing landfills and creating thousands of new, green jobs.
