Jackson Associates has announced the availability of new Battery Storage Marketing and Sales Assistant Profiler software designed to accelerate sales of battery and battery/PV systems by significantly reducing the cost of qualifying individual residential and commercial customers and assessing new market opportunities.
"New technology markets including energy storage and solar photovoltaic applications reflect something of a frenzied environment with many companies competing with different technologies, designs and application strategies to demonstrate advantages of their products.
"Evaluating potential customers is difficult and costly because considerable upfront time in sales and engineering costs are often expended only to determine that the customer's load profiles provide little or no customer benefit. Furthermore, reliable evaluations of new markets is nearly impossible because of the lack of information on customer loads in those areas," said Dr. Jerry Jackson, President of Jackson Associates.
Profiler software reduces customer acquisition costs by thousands of dollars per customer by
+ Identifying attractive individual sales prospects prior to customer contact
+ Qualifying customers in initial customer telephone or onsite contacts using customer information and Profiler-supplied utility rate structures, technology characteristics and hourly or 15-minute interval loads of matching customers drawn from the 7+ million MAISY utility customer database
+ Identifying new profitable markets in any ZIP code or market area in the US with Profiler interval loads, utility rates, and user technology characteristics for any residential or commercial customer segment
The Battery Storage Profiler is the latest member of the MAISY Profiler software series and is designed to fill an important gap in the battery storage and storage/ PV market. Additional Battery Storage Profiler information is available at http://www.maisy.com/storagepv.htm .
The ability to draw hourly or interval loads from the MAISY Utility Customer Databases based on customer characteristics circumvents the delays encountered in developing hourly or interval data from customers, saving considerable upfront time and marketing/sales expense by immediately assessing potential customers' electric loads and the potential for energy bill savings based on technology characteristics and utility rate structures. In areas where interval loads are not available from the utility or the customer, the Profiler provides this valuable information.
Profiler software is designed to provide an easy-to-use immediate technology and financial assessment with only a few pieces of customer information to assist both vendors and potential customers in quickly determining the potential benefit of proceeding with a more detailed analysis. Where available, the Profiler incorporates utility-provided green-button interval load data to refine the analysis.
Profiler technology analysis calculates load leveling, peak shaving and load shifting strategies based on technology characteristics including kW/kWh characteristics and load variations within each billing period. Technology cost data and utility rate structure details are applied to calculate bill savings and to evaluate the business case for alternative system configurations.
In addition to short-circuiting the customer qualification process, the Profiler also provides business case insights on new market areas which is extremely important in the rapidly developing and competitive battery and PV markets.
"Our analysis shows that early market entry within local geographic areas is one of the most important determinants of market share and is critical in developing competitive advantage," said Jackson who, in addition to working with some of the largest and most innovative technology companies through Jackson Associates has also provided pioneering analysis of new technology markets as a professor at Texas A and M University and Chief of the Applied Research Division at Georgia Tech Research Institute.
The Battery Storage Marketing and Sales Assistant Profiler Software is available for individual utility service areas and states. Operating within an Excel workbook, the software does not require internet connectivity. The workbook format provides easy user customization and the ability to generate preliminary executive proposals to support sales efforts.
