At the Euronaval 2024 event, Framatome CEO Bernard Fontana and TechnicAtome CEO Loic Rocard formalized an agreement for Framatome to supply the primary pumps for the nuclear boilers of France's next-generation aircraft carrier, known as PA-NG, after a competitive selection process.
The technical qualification prototype is set for delivery in 2027, with serial production to follow, aiming for the PA-NG's commissioning in 2038. These advanced pumps, designed for higher power output than prior models, will be developed and manufactured at Framatome's Jeumont site in Northern France. This facility is known for producing mobile nuclear power plant components and primary pumps for naval propulsion.

The PA-NG program is overseen by the French General Armament Directorate (DGA), with the nuclear boilers managed by the military applications division (DAM) of the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA). Project management and construction involve a consortium of TechnicAtome, a subsidiary of Naval Group, and Chantiers de l'Atlantique.
