Costco Taps PermaCity To Continue Its Successful Solar Power Initiative In Southern California

Long Beach (SPX) Sept 25, 2007 - PermaCity has been contracted to design and build for Costco Wholesale Corporation solar power systems at a number of their Southern California facilities with a combined rated system output of 2.4 megawatts(dc). Building on the success of Costco's first 580 kW prototype system installation in Lancaster, CA, which PermaCity installed in 2006, PermaCity is now installing four more systems.

BrightSource Energy Files First Solar AFC in California Since 1989

Oakland CA (SPX) Sept 25, 2007 - BrightSource Energy announced that it has filed an Application For Construction (AFC) with the California Energy Commission (CEC) for development of a 400 MW solar power plant site. This is the first AFC to be filed in California since 1989 for the construction of solar power plants. BrightSource plans to build three separate solar plants on a site in California known as Ivanpah, about five miles southwest of Primm, Nevada.
